Subject: Re: [Leica] 28mm Elmarit R question

As it is easy and inexpensive to add the third cam, many two cam lenses
have been converted to three cam. It is always best just to examine each
lens to see if the three cams are there.

Go here for a primer on R cams:

The 28/2.8R was introduced in 1970 and the R3 arrived in 1976. So as a
rough guide, lenses above 2 761101 will have three cams (or just the R
cam).
