No! You raise an interesting point. Even if McNally is aware of shortcomings
in his project it may contractually be beyond his grasp to change the way it
is presented. Clearly in this case a reshoot is quite impossible and the
project has a momentum independent of its artistic merits.

I once went into a pitch meeting with the producers of a particularly awful
film over whose identity I will draw the veil of charity. The first thing
they said was "Yeah, we know".

This is a lot better than those meetings where people DON'T know, and expect
you to admire the last POS they were responsible for.
