Thanks for the post.  Maybe all the years of German for my daughter are
paying off.  When she translated the letter all the same things that come
from the LUG archives come up.  Oblique rays not illuminating the corners of
the CCD causing severe vignetting; not enough room with M lenses to install
a IR and anti-aliasing filter. and etc.

What was most interesting was the comment about newer chip technology.  With
the discussions in the trade about the new Olympus SLR with a family of
lenses designed around a specific CCD, could Leica be in preliminary
discussions about something similar?
