Thanks, Steve, for the most engrossing LUG post I've seen this year. I've 
saved it to my hard drive and will print a copy for my Leica file. Really 
fascinating information revealing, for example, why Leitz quality was so 
high: very highly skilled and trained personnel and 33 hours to assemble one 
Leica IIIc. Obvious differences and greater complexity but I wonder how many 
hours it requires to assemble an M7. Also interesting is how little was 
contracted out.
