Sorry, Don...It doesn't matter where I move my eye...Particularly when there
is strong light coming from above...as Slobodan noted, when one is working
on a commercial job and must get the shot, it is a real problem.

I actually think it is how people see the flare.  I move my eye a little to
recenter and continue to shoot; so flare doesn't even register most times.
I suspect others stop and stare at the glare and get upset.  By the same
token, to reopen old threads, my M3 never flares which is a reason it keeps
getting used.
