To those who expressed concern, I thank you. We were out of the path
of the storm that just hit Louisiana, and although we were buttoned up
against more water, there's always concern after a giant limb has
pierced the roof in several places and weather like that looms.

The estimates are all in, and it seems we were quite lucky, if any
aspect of having a major portion of a tree fall on your house is
lucky. The damage will cost less than $3000 to repair, as there seems
to be no major structural damage outside of a hip-beam and two rafters
broken. The bill for the crane and wood cutters will be considerably
higher than that, and most of it is covered by insurance.

The contractor begins work on Monday, and while my son has lost use of
his room, he's making a nest in the Living Room right now, and that's
the major disruption to our lives.

Again, thank you for the many notes of concern, I tried to answer
some, but I have had a interruption to my email service this past week
as well, and as you know when it rains, it pours.
