The original prices were surprisingly close together.  From the 1978
US list prices (assuming a 90mm lens):

C1500  $1005.90 (30221)
CA1500 $1111.90 (30237)
C2500  $1071.90 (30245)
CA2500 $1180.90 (30253)

"A" was autofocus
