I started out in photography in the late 70's with a half dozen people
most I still know and we all were trying out HC110B dilution B because
we'd heard Ansel used it. Within 6 months we were all back to D76 1:1
some of us went to FG7 no sulfite or Rodinal is where most of us ended
up. Till Xtol came along in the 90's.
