Subject: [Leica] Baseplate pressure preventing shutter release on M2 - HELP!

Your M2 probably has an early M3 baseplate with the
large nipple substituted for the later M2 baseplate
with a small nipple that fits into the take up spool. 
These parts are not interchangeable although they
appear to be.  The use of the correct M2 baseplate
should solve your shutter release problem.
