<<<everything in colour and it goes to a pro lab>>>

I used to do this also, and of course still will if a color shot is wanted
in b/w, but I find that I shoot differently if I know I'm shooting b/w, so I
do both now, and different "styles" for each. I have to do things like this
to keep the wedding "fun." I never want to get locked into one way to do
it, or it will become too much like work. :)

As for the kind of film I use: Portra 400NC 120 in my ETRS, and Kodak
consumer (sorry!) c-41 process b/w 400ASA in my Leica. They just look
great, so I can't see switching! I'll experiment more soon, but it's
working for now.

This may not be relevant in your market but the way I work is that I shoot
everything in colour and it goes to a pro lab. The couple are advised that
should they want any shots in b&w then we will print them from the colour
negs, and if that is the case the pro lab does them for me at the same price
as they do the colour reprints. It works well and leaves m none of the
printing work to worry about.

Would those of you shooting even a portion of your weddings in black and
white comment on if you process and proof it yourself or if you take it to a
lab.

I am nearing a volume with my wedding/portrait work where self-processing
and proofing is almost impossible and I'm considering using a lab. I'm not
sure if I want to switch to a c-41 process bw film or find a lab that can
handle true black and white. Suggestions? And while I do shoot some digital
(not for weddings), my Epson printer is not such that it can output archival
prints so that's not an option right now.

Thanks for your comments.
