Toronto is nasty in the winter because it is so humid. Out here on the 
bald prairie, we have no humidity at all. You can either have -30C or 
humidity but not both. My personal record is -33C in a blowing 
snowstorm. For me the fun stops at about -25C. After that it is just 
plain hard work as the clothing you have on makes it difficult to turn 
the pedals. Below -30C I wear snowmobile boots which are very 
inefficient cycling shoes :-)

Just call me DaKook of the North. There are a surprising number of us 
and more each year. It is a blast.
