I think 'program' is the best thing since sliced bread. 
One day, just for fun, a friend of mine tested my meterless exposure
determinations against his calibrated meter. I was right nine times out
ten, and even that tenth time was within half a stop.
But guess what, I can't afford to be wrong by even that half stop,
especially with chromes. And then, never mind daylight fillflash
shooting. 
It takes three rolls of film to figure out the calibration of a
particular camera. After that I don't even want to think what it's, or
it's not, doing. One's concentration should only be dedicated to the
composition and the subject.
