There may be some catalogues that list them as MR-4 but the unit itself is always
engraved just MR, whatever the vintage. I too prefer the "MR-4" for all purposes,
'cause that top-mounted On switch is less fragile. Big problem on all is battery
compartment door breakage. The movement is small/fragile and the casing doesn't offer
the innards much protection. But when they work, they're dang useful. Think: very
strongly centre-weighted readings with 35/28 lenses, a spot meter with 24 mm and
wider (but no external VF possible).
