I've shot from the hip, so to speak, with a Yashica T4 (which had a neat 
little viewfinder for it). I think that for subway shots or those like 
below when you don't want to attract a lot of attention, shooting from the 
hip is good (as long as you can tell what you're aiming at). With a Leica, 
I probably wouldn't try it with lenses longer than 28.
