But the reality is that the .58 is a body for wide angle lenses. I would
argue that anything over a normal lens on an M is a compromise anyway -
well, perhaps not a 90 on a .85 with a magnifier - but to put a 90 on a
.58 body makes very little sense. IMHO...

Chris - not to split hairs but I would think not being able to focus 
accurately at f/2 on the .58 IS a problem - Yes I realize that you
normally 
have it on the M3 but for anyone contemplating the .58 it would seem
unwise 
for the 90 AA.  Put another way what is the purpose of having the 90/2
if 
only the 90/2.8 or 90/4 will accurately focus. I realize that you
probably 
acquired the .58 AFTER already having the 90/2 but for someone who is
just 
getting into M's they should think seriously about their choice of a 90 
based on what you''ve told us.
