Kit,

I just looked at the warranty cards of my various Leica pieces, mostly 
purchased in Germany, and there is no restriction on resale in the 
German text. The only requirement is that the warranty card is stamped 
by the authorized dealer from whom the camera or lens was originally 
purchased, no matter by whom. This is for the standard 2-year warranty.

My R8 came with an extended 5-year warranty, but that too has no 
restrictions w.r.t. the original owner.
