You can purchase a mask for your Hasselblad that will allow you to create
rectangular pictures.

Might it not be better to modify a medium format camera so that it
would take Leica lenses and produce a square negative that is as tall
as the current 35mm file is wide?

Is there a repair person who would undertake to modify an M6 so that
it takes square pictures? This would involve modifying the film
advance system and then making a smaller image mask.
