One more datapoint about the Nikon LS scanners - with its optional roll
film attachment, you can batch scan a roll of 36 exposure with no user
intervention in about 1 to 1 1/2 hours. It has a brush thing in the front
so film strip is automatically cleaned somewhat. I shoot almost exclusively
with Provia 100F and found the scans, even with oft-maligned NikonScan
software, to be excellent. Almost no Photoshop work is needed to make the
scans to match what I see on the slides.
