In response to the off-topic question about the first woman at Hopkins,
I 
think that the answer is Betty Hay, who is currently a professor at
Harvard 
Medical School. I could be wrong about that, but I think that I remember
her 
mentioning something like that in a lecture I saw her give at HMS in the
early 
ninties...
