My thought on this is that Leica is doing a bold smart marketing move by
having the MP coast LESS then the M7.
A subtle hint that you're supposed to shoot with it not put it in a case.

Also the camera now is a brilliant idea. They can use the M6 dies I'd
think for the most part.

And we have a 35mm camera which DOES NOT TAKE BATTERIES. Not THAT is a
2001 Monolith piece of news. Science fiction fantasy. Heck my jetpack
strapped to my back takes Lithium crystals but my Leica MP? BATTERY-LESS!!!!

"Look little gear things!" 
NO circuit boards or microchips!

THEY MUST HAVE BEEN VISITED BY ALIENS TO HAVE COME UP WITH THIS TECHNOLOGY!!!
