Subject: [Leica] Luis Marden of the National Geographic dies

Luggers,
    Luis Marden, 90, who introduced 35mm photography, the Leica and
Kodachrome to the National Geographic magazine, past away. There is an
interesting obituary on him in today's NY Times. 4/5/03.
    Someone quoted in the story said, he got the photographers away from
carrying 200 pounds of equipment with his Leica. I find it amusing because
almost everyone at the NGS travels much much more today.
