Hi Don,

I find it interesting that there is a persistent belief in the West that 
the Western Allies defeated Germany in 1945.

This would have been utterly impossible (with the numbers of Allied land 
forces in that theatre) if the Red Army had not destroyed the combat 
power of the German Army in 1943.
