Hi Mark,

I've invested (note to wife "invested") in a couple of R bodies and
lenses in my day.

I would suggest an R8 if you want the best viewfinder and meter and all
the added Program electronics. An R6 or R6.2 if you want the most M like
of Leica SLR's. Best flash features also go along with the R8. Buy an R7
if you want a hybrid of R8 and the R6. An SL2 with hold its value best
and I've seen claims that Leica actually lost money on every SL2 they
sold. The SL2 like the M5 is a piece of technological wonder in the pure
craftsmanship department!

My favorite lenses for the R bodies are: 70-180/f2.8, 280/f.28,
100/f2.8, 35-70/f2.8 (for speed) 35-70/f4 and the 80-200/f4 for size and
image quality. I've never owned the 60mm lens but I do own the 180/f2.8
and it is also a stellar performer.

Regards,

Greg
