Ken,

It's been our experience that the people of Normandy are exceptionally 
welcoming to Americans.  An older gentleman at a gas station in Normandy 
kissed my husband on both cheeks and got very teary-eyed as he said over 
and over again, "Thank you to Americans for saving us!"
