Subject: [Leica] quality control

On the one hand, I'm happy to hear that there is
not an ASPH-flare problem to the extent that I had
assumed on the basis of my experience with two
lenses(24mm and Tri-Elmar); on the other hand, I'm now
concerned about Leica quality control. I readily
understand that for a given lens type one
lens'aperature ring may be stiff and another's loose,
and most of all the rest just right, but I don't
understand how one lens can be flare prone and another
of the same type can be exceptionally flare-free. Do
we know of a Leica quality control problem? Is it
possible we are really talking about differences among
us in how we use our lenses? Tom
