My take on it Don, depends upon two things - the comparative quality of
the lenses when shooting at 1.4 and smaller apertures - 2.8, 4 etc, and
how often one has to shoot at 1/4 sec, an 1/8th, a 1/15th, and even a
30th. Because if the answer to question two is "allot," then this lens
could definitely be an image saver. BUT, I would be hard pressed to give
up the quality of the asph 35 1.4 for something that isn't damn close in
quality - at least when shooting tri-x at 800, handheld - as opposed to
slide film on a tripod. ;-)

You are right, 1.2 is a half stop faster than the 1.4 ASPH.  I still
don't think that is enough for an existing ASPH owner to make a change.
If you don't already own a fast 35 then duh.
