Subject: [Leica] Latest PAW from Jim Shulman

The weekend brought another trip to the old car flea markets. This
fellow, who drove up in a vintage '59 Plymouth (as part of a Forward
Look troika) had style well beyond the tailfins.

And for those who need to know: Yes, he indeed did pose for this
photograph.

Incidentally, the shots taken over the weekend were made with a M-mount
Elmar 50/3.5 I'd heard wonderful things about this lens--apparently
many photographers in the 50s were loathe to give up the red scale Elmar
for the collapsible Summicron--but was surprised by the wonderful
results. Not all aged Leitz optics are this impressive, even after a
CLA. A scanner doesn't do it justice--ya gotta see 'em on a light table.

Best,
