This will be the prize. The (well, slightly on-topic) contest: What is the best tip (photographic) you can think of using the following formula: - ---> If you can't "X" then "Y" (using inexpensive or household materials) <--- Example #1: if you can't afford a B+W Softar 1, then take a UV filter and make circular dabs of clear nail polish on it. Example #2: if you can't find a supplemental +1 lens of the right size, use a hand magnifier. Tips can be related to equipment or technique. Most clever tip wins. Tips which cost less than $10 to execute are the most impressive ones, but each will be considered on its own merits. Rules: 1. Email offlist; put "Photo Tip Contest" in the subject line 2. Decisions of our judges (Davidde and me) will be final. 3. Entries are due on Wednesday at midnight (i.e., 12am Thursday, your time zone) 4. Winner needs to provide a postal address for the prize (anywhere worldwide; bear in mind that film going overseas may get x-rayed - so outside the U.S., it may be the glory and not the prize...) 5. Tips will be published (with attribution to you) on my site.
