Not at all...The head of the Olympus camera division recently made the
point that the 600 mm lens they will be releasing with their new digital
SLR is the same size as most manufacturer's high-speed 300 mm lenses -
that's the new digital SLR with the 4/3 sensor...:-)

True at 35mm, but try the argument again at 400mm... Who would want to
use a 400mm lens at 400mm when he is told he could make that lens act
like a 560mm lens?  SUre sounds like a marketing position to me... "Use
my new Model L1 Digital camera with the result that your telephoto
lenses will get you closer to the sports participants."  Imagine all the
fathers that take endless pictures of their kids swimming, soccer,
baseball, football, lacrosse, hurling, tiddly winks, ping pong, etc.
They now could own bigger faster lenses without the cost of those bigger
faster lenses.....  Idiotic? Maybe.  Maybe not.

wouldn't anyone prefer to use a 35mm lens as a 35mm lens?
