But Jerry, if you implied that I can't spell you would be absolutely
correct! :-) I have never been able to spell - while a copyboy at the
Washington Post I was turned down for a summer internship position
precisely because I flunked the required spelling test.

I never implied that you cannot spell.  I usually am very sensitive to
the nuances of the English language.  Before I majored in English, I
went to high school with your fellow Pulitzer Prize winner, Bill Safire.
In fact his mother was my Junior High School English teacher!
