Funny you should say that, I bought a Nokia 3410 yesterday, got it up and
running, adjusted the ring tone etc. and then thought I'd have a look at the
manual :-)

It arrived with the battery partly charged, a nice touch.

 The past several purchases have required no reading of the manual at all to
get 
them working. Granted, we have no camera phones, just plain Nokia phones 
of various flavors, designed for the killer application of mobile 
telephone--talking.
