My comment had not a thing to do with PC, but I was genuinely curious why you, of all people, would specifically mention race. Most people who know me well, know I am very race blind. In fact, I find it odd that when a minority is mentioned in the news (and even in general conversation), race is most always mentioned, but when it's a white, not a thing is mentioned about him/her being white.
