If you're using the M system only to shoot family snaps you should've said
goodbye to it a long time ago.  There are many more affordable options, both
digital and film, that will do the job.   But to say that an R8/R9 with a
digital back---which will weigh as much as the R8/R9 with MOTOR
winder---will replace a rangefinder M camera which is infinitely easier to
handle, to carry, to use, to utilize in low light, in tight spots, PLEASE.
The only thing your conclusion demonstrates is that you're more a dilettante
than a photographer.
