Not at all. The F3 was introduced in 1980, not 1983. I bought mine in 1981
in Japan. It is sort of like an M7 -- aperture priority automation, solid as
a rock, not too heavy, great viewfinder (with interchangeable everything).
Motor only if you need it. I love it. Having written that, I now wonder why
I even covet an M7 to supplement my M6. I guess I just saved a bunch of
money :-).
They stayed in production until very recently. F4 and F5 were/are too heavy
for anyone except young pros.
