Hi Simon,
I think this falls into a personal choice after reading the replies.

However, if you like the feel of the Leica M then it might be best to stay
with that known feel and opt for the adapter, which in my case I've found
they work perfectly on the M's 6 & 7.

Whether this is of any help I hope so, as I go with the what I know rather
than going with a new camera completely for one lens. Because going that
route opens a "new camera system if you like.
