There is a an internet specified method for giving addresses. I think for the US it has now been take over by the US Postal Service. My address at idea-processing.com is virtually hosted to: dcn.davis.ca.us dcn being Davis Community Network davis being the city ca being california us being United States of America I don't know if other countries have a similiar scheme...
