The art directors are ready for it and often recommend them. Anything for a different look. I say put old LTM glass on your cameras and shoot with that. The results will usually be very esoteric due to whale blubber effect. Or get the Adobe Whale Blubber filter plug-in (AWB) which has a known algorithm which is quite similar!
