Jack,

The massive object on the right is reminiscent of a sculpture I saw at MOMA 
in NYC titled Grief or a similar term. It was massive, black, metal and 
immovable.
I believe you used the same form of expression in this shot. The gnarled bare 
tree 
and the wall separating life from death all reinforce the somber scene. Your 
use of B&W keeps the pressure of sorrow on. You done good.
