No they didn't, they used the photo that won Eddie Adams a Pulitzer 
that year.

As for the girl, she's living in Canada.

As for General Loan who pulled the trigger, he had a Pizza parlor in 
Washington D.C. for a while. He's now dead.  The man he shot had killed 
a friend of his shortly before the incident.
