That explains the intimacy of the images. It's extraordinary. Most people who 
do street work tend to use much longer focal lengths. To use 35mm you must be 
personable and gain immediate trust. On the other hand, 35mm DOF favors very 
quick composition and response; there's no fiddling around with focus.
