The change occured without any big announcement. I had to unsubscribe and resubsbscribe to read the revised LUG welcome message which now restricts both selling and buying messages to Fridays. Quick survey: how many people actually read John's weekly messages (how to amaze your friends, etc. ?) I believe that it has become noise, that noone pays any attention to. A better way is to change the unsubscribe URL that is automatically tagged to each message to a more general how-to/faq URL.
