That certainly suggests that Weisskopf was the one who was more
seriously injured; an AP report quoted an unnamed military source as
saying that one of the journalists was seriously injured, while one
suffered minor injuries.

My thoughts exactly, B.D. When this whole Iraq
"adventure" started to look like it was going to
happen late last year, my first thought was of the photographers who
would die. That said, I have a sneaking suspicion that Nachtwey is
going to get out of this and it will be another part of legendary life.
The following was clipped from PDN at 3:30 central
time:

Photographer James Nachtwey and Time senior
correspondent Michael Weisskopf were injured late
Wednesday when the Humvee they were riding in came
under attack in Baghdad.

Marion Durand at VII, Nachtwey's photo agency, says
the two journalists were taken to a military hospital
in Baghdad where they are listed in stable condition.

According to reports, Weisskopf tried to throw the
grenade out of the vehicle before it exploded, likely
saving the lives of all on board.

The two journalists are expected to be transferred to
the U.S. military hospital in Frankfurt sometime
tomorrow.

At least 17 journalists have died in Iraq covering the
war, including at least four killed by U.S. forces.
