How would anyone making this rationalization feel about having their 'grossly overpriced' photographs stolen for use by someone else? I can argue that Leicas are grossly overpriced...does that mean that I should steal a Leica? Yes, I do believe that there are some necessities which should, one way or another, be available to everyone - health care, shelter, and food. But I don't believe that they should be stolen either. No one has to use Photoshop - there are cheaper alternatives. In fact, the Corel products are very very similar to Photoshop and are a fraction of the price. - -----Original Message----- From: owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us [mailto:owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us] On Behalf Of Eric Sent: Saturday, December 13, 2003 11:19 AM To: leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us Subject: [Leica] Re: Photoshop 7.0 for Mac OS Félix: >I do not approve piracy but I can understand it when someone is making >profit far beyond industrial or commercial common sense just for the >fact he's got a so called standard. Who determines how much of a profit is far beyond common sense? If you don't want to buy Photoshop, check out the Gimp: http://www.gimp.org/ . There's no valid excuse for stealing a luxury item.
