Being to the left of Chomsky in many aspects, I also agree with protecting yourself, your work, and your reputation. There is nothing more satisfying then kicking some well deserved ass.

I was at a restaurant, a seafood place on Smith street in Brooklyn, on the cover of their menu was a photograph with a Corbis water mark stretched across it. I was a bit incensed because a portion of my household income comes from Corbis, (thanks bill). I don't think these people deserve to be sued into the ground, on the other hand, the food wasn't that good.

Man I'm with you all the way on this issue. If anyone uses one of my
pictures without permission, or without payment for the right to use it, I
become their "worst nightmare ever ever!"

Those of us who've earned our keep and developed reputations due to the
quality of our ability and efforts as photographer's have the right to sue
any SOB to the grave for stealing a photograph we made, shot, whatever. Or
making a direct copy of a picture.

We had an incident where someone copied a picture in my "Doctors' Work" book
and using it in promotion that had absolutely nothing to do with the
doctor's depicted in the photograph. What was worse, they were pushing the
credibility of physicians.

I bet they still have nightmares on a good night while holding ice bags to
their crotch!!! ;-)

I'm a pretty easy going kind of guy.... most of the time.. ;-) However, mess
with my pictures and I become the meanest assed SOB on this planet!
