Yes, normal. As one who regularly shoots at temps down to -40, I can tell
you that a
classic LTM camera is definitely NOT the thing to count on for slow speed
reliability
in freezing temps

I never had any problems with any that have had a recent cla by someone
good.  I think the years work against the cameras more than the design.
