4"? I recall an ideal being you need to get from the tip of the nose to
the back of the ear.
I think that's more like 6 or 8 inches which is a lot to try to get in
shot with a higher magnification. Neck up. Or even "head an shoulders".
It all gets so much easier if we just pull back more and shoot them from
the waist up or knees up for that matter. Then we don't get criticized
for how sharp our lenses are.

Just remember that tune "Far Far Away" :)
