Jon,

I'll second your comments on the DMC-LC20.  I bought one on ebay for my 
daughter.  It takes really fine pictures, though it is a battery hog.  
I'm not sure it would be good to keep in the car as it only uses NiMHii 
which don't hold a charge for very long.  Alkalines burn out almost 
immediately.  Otherwise, a great camera for the money.
