I had to actually go back and look at the original to see the extraneous material that was taken away. It (the removed areas) wasn't anything that had left an impression in my mind. When I worked for a newspaper people were cropping my stuff all the time. A lot of times just to fit into the column-space and the reasons for cropping didn't have anything to do with the shot. This was different.
