Howard,

The last time I was in Venice I found hotels to be really expensive.
We wound up staying at this little place on Lido Island. You can take
a water bus directly to Lido from the airport. To get to Venice you
also take a water bus from Lido, about 10 minutes or so. Lido is a
small place, quiet and friendly, a good place to hide from the hustle
and bustle of Venice. The hotel is quite small and very friendly.
