Not really Dan..... They have doing what is called rebranding and selling
those rebranded cameras. They are basically using someone else's
manufacturing and products, getting some profit ( ?) from a distribution
model. This does not take advantage of their glass, and therefore their
employees abilities to manufacture or to create.

In fact, if you had a company that was successfully moving towards a
distribution model and away from a manufacturing model, you would send out a
message to the financial community just about like the one Leica recently
put out.

BTW, if you will carefully read the latest announcement for Leica Day (
Paul's Photo in Torrance, CA), the new Leica Digilux camera is stated as
being the "Digital M". SO the Digital M is a P+S Digital camera with a zoom
lens and a "look" of the camera just like an M6. If it looks like a Leica,
and sounds like a Leica it must BE a Leica... right?

WRONG!

I think they understand the business model you describe.
